Postpartum Care

I offer mother-centered care for families in Sydney, in the weeks and months after birth. My intention is to meet you with gentleness, and to provide deep care in the tender weeks after birth, in the comfort of your own home. I will be there to hold you through postpartum as you navigate the magic and chaos of it all. My practice draws upon the cross cultural pillars of postpartum care: nourishment, rest, warmth, support, and community,

Food is at the heart of my practice. Through specific postpartum foods that support recovery and replenish nutrient stores, my nourishing meals will support your body to heal from childbirth (particularly important if there are perineal tears or surgical wounds), blood loss (from birth or lochia), support uterine remodelling as it shrinks back to pre pregnancy size, and to support connective tissue and skin elasticity. These meals, tonics and snacks will nourish your tissues, balance hormones, encourage an abundant milk supply, ground your nervous system, build blood and replenish fluids and nutrients.  Prepared fresh using organic, seasonal and local produce.

Postpartum Care Package

  • 6 x 3 hour visits weekly

  • Warming nutrient dense meals, snacks, teas and tonics to support optimal postpartum healing

  • Food delivery of three savoury meals (for two people), one sweet breakfast, snacks and tonics for the week. Autumn/winter menu is now available

  • Naturopath formulated herbal products to support healing

  • Herbal sitz bath - brings blood flow to the perineal tissues as they heal post birth. Herbs work to soothe inflammation and minimise irritation, while the warmth of the herbal tea soak bring circulation to the area to ensure rapid tissue healing

  • Herbal steaming

  • Postpartum nutritional support

  • Support with infant care based upon my training in physiologic baby care with Rachelle Garcia Seliga

  • Support with integration into new motherhood

  • Support with holding space for the family to integrate the changes in the home in a holistic way

  • Emotional support for birth debriefing and healing
